1. LEASE AGREEMENT OF THE LAND
THIS INDEPENDENTURE made the day of between the Governor of Bihar (HEREINAFTER CALLED THE LESSOR which expression shall where the contest so admits or implies include his successors in office and assigns) of the one part and the Royal Government of Thailand (HEREINAFTER CALLED THE LESSEE – which expression shall where the context so admits or implies include its sucessor in office, representatives and assigns) of the other part.

WHEREAS the lessee has applied for permission to occupy a piece of land, at Bodh – Gaya in the District of Gaya, details of which are specified in the first Part of the schecule hereunder written, which has been acquired by the lessor under the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act and as such is owned and possessed by the application has received the sanction of the lessor.

Now this indenture witnesseth that the lessor doth hereby demise, unto the lessee all the lands and premises as specifiec in Part I of the Schedule. With their appurtenances excepting and reseving unto the lessor all mines, minerals, mineral substancesof every description, sand and clay in or under the premises hereby demised with full right and liverty at all times to do all acts and things, which may be necessary or expedient for the purpose of searching, digging, working, obtainging, re,oving and enjoying the same, paying the lessee resonable compensatoin for all damage done, To hold the same unto the lessee from the FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1958, for the term of ninety – nine years yielding and paying therefor a clear yearly rent or Rupee 584/ -and the lessee hereby convenants with the lessor that he will perform and obseve the terms and conditions set-forth in the second part of the said Schedule.

In witness whereof the said parties hereunto set their hands and seal the day year fist above written.
