Priya Pal Bhante is a Chakma Buddhist monk, aged about 34 years, originally from Tripura state of North-East India. He is the Chief Monk of Chakma Buddhist Temple of Buddhagaya. He also works as Assistant General Secretary of the International Buddhist Council of Buddhagaya. He has been living in Buddhagaya for the last 15 years and is closely associated to represent the Chakma Buddhist community of Assam, Tripura , Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh of India.
